KLOTZ DIGITAL will surprise this year’s IBC visitors with the launch of its DECENNIUM 5.1. The company streamlined the DECENNIUM to fulfil the requirements for a wide range of surround 5.1 applications: making it a valuable tool for TV, video, and radio surround productions.
Moreover, the console was also redesigned for easy operation of surround sound in live broadcasts, therefore, surround, stereo, and mono sources can be mixed and processed together. Depending on the current requirements, 5.1 surround sources can be assigned either as single audio channels on separate faders, or as a combined 6-ch-block to any single fader, allowing easy cross fades. The control surface still has its familiar look: flat-panel design, combining fader modules and a Monitor/DSP/Master Module. Naturally, the features and functions are different: The Monitor/DSP/Master Module comprises a monitoring section with three independent monitor channels, including: mono, stereo, and surround monitor features and a comfortable central surround PAN. In addition, it is fitted with a central DSP and control section, programmable function keys, and master fader. An LCD screen is integrated to display audio level meters, all important console functions, and parameters. Additionally, a totally new fader module with motorized faders has been developed, offering a couple of new functions such as virtual multi layers, source related signal indicators, and improved access to buses, thereby guarantying a fast and intuitive operation. A big channel display is located on the right place, and the ‘Multi- Purpose Control Element’ (MPCE) which is integrated in each channel strip, can either be used to select and assign sources, or to adjust and modify a wide variety of channel related parameters such as: phase, phantom power, aux sends, gains and levels, LFE/SUB send level, balance, and many more. A powerful configuration software GUI offers enormous possibilities to adapt the DECENNIUM perfectly to the customer’s needs.
